Manitoba's globally competitive aerospace sector produces world-class
products for customers on six continents. One of the fastest growing
aerospace hubs in Canada, Manitoba produces and sells products and services valued in excess of $1.6 billion. It is the third largest aerospace centre in Canada. Aerospace is one of Manitoba's premier industries and it continues to grow and develop.
From modest roots in small bush plane repair in the 1930's, Manitoba
aerospace capabilities have grown exponentially to include rocket launches, satellite manufacturing and highly technical aircraft components for the world market. Manitoba is also home to North America's largest
aerospace composite manufacturing centre as well as one of the world's
largest gas turbine engine and accessory repair and overhaul companies.
Manitoba's burgeoning aerospace industry enjoys supportive partnerships
with local, provincial, and federal governments as well as with regional
secondary and post-secondary educational institutions. Working together
today, these partners are preparing a skilled workforce for tomorrow,
coupled with an innovative technological climate. More and more, global
customers and suppliers will look to Manitoba aerospace companies for
value-based solutions.
