Home of the world's best...
Manitoba is home to a strategic cluster of Tier 2, 3 and 4 aerospace manufacturers that form an efficient and synergistic supply chain of prime manufacturers as well as suppliers of major aircraft assemblies, subsystems and components. This community of companies forms a powerful partnership. Manitoba Aerospace boasts four of the biggest aerospace companies in the world.
Aveos
The Aveos facility provides maintenance for Aveos's
fleet as well as those of other airlines. Aveos's Winnipeg base
is recognized as the premier Airbus A320 maintenance shop in North America.
The facility provides component maintenance, repair and overhaul, and
complete technical and logistics support.
Boeing
Supplying their worldwide commercial airplane production, Boeing Canada
Technology's Winnipeg Division is the largest aerospace composite manufacturing
facility in North America. More than 1,000 parts and assemblies are
manufactured in Winnipeg for the Boeing 737, 747, 757, 767, 777 and
787 models.
Magellan Aerospace
Specializing in precision manufacturing, Bristol Aerospace (a division
of Magellan Aerospace) produces sounding rockets, small satellites,
defence equipment and offers a broad range of repair and overhaul services.
Bristol's 700,000-square foot Winnipeg facility includes a composite
manufacturing centre. The company's solid fuel propellant plant is
located in Rockwood, Manitoba.
StandardAero
StandardAero is one of the world's largest
independent gas turbine engine and accessory repair and overhaul companies.
With facilities around the globe, StandardAero serves the ever-changing
needs of aircraft, marine, and industrial engine operators in over
eighty countries.
Manitoba aerospace companies also supply valuable services to the industry. Allied Wings' Defence Services Group provides Air Force pilot training in Southport, Manitoba.
